Springboard has been successfully become the Primary Years Program Candidate School since 2019 and we are expecting IB authorization in May 2022.

All of the IB programs are flexible enough to enable teachers to respond to local requirements; thus the implementation of the PYP at Springboard addresses the Common Core standards and Chinese national standard.

The PYP curriculum model is comprised of six academic areas surrounded by the learner profile, key concepts, transdisciplinary themes, approaches to learning and teaching, exhibition and action.  Together, these elements build an internationally-minded curriculum. Emphasis is intentionally placed on constructivism, concept-based and inquiry learning that are integrated throughout the teaching model.

We designed the six subjects are:

1. Language: English(70%) and Chinese(30%)

2. Mathematics(English math and Chinese math)

3. Social Studies(Integrated in PYP transdisciplinary theme)

4. Science((Integrated in PYP transdisciplinary theme))

5. Personal, Social, Physical Education

6. Visual Arts and Music

The most significant and distinctive feature of the IB Primary Years Programme are the six transdisplinary themes These themes provide IB World Schools with the opportunity to incorporate local and global issues into the curriculum and effectively allow students to “step up” beyond the confines of learning within subject areas. We designed our Programme of Inquiry(POI) based on SDG goals and six transdisciplnary themes that are worth exploring for children.
